Polly Anna Barlow graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, Phi Kappa Phi and the AMA Student Section Executive Council. She was awarded the Douglas Wills Memorial Scholarship for promise in medicine and good character. She was also awarded the Urban and Schwarzenberg Histology Award for the highest academic average in Histology, as well as the John Houston Wear Foundation Scholarship for academic excellence. She was a Dean’s Award recipient and Dean’s Scholar.
Dr. Barlow completed both her residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a Body Imaging Fellowship at UMMC. She served as Assistant Professor of Radiology at UMMC from 2003 to 2005 when she moved with her family to Birmingham, AL. She then joined the faculty of UAB School of Medicine — where she served as Assistant Professor of Breast imaging, and received the “Top Ten Award” for excellence in Resident Education.
In 2011, Dr. Barlow was selected Interim Chief of UAB’s Breast Imaging Section. She has been practicing at Women’s Imaging Associates since 2013.
